Traveling
Beyond All Space and Time
With the countdown ended, the blazing rockets roar. Clouds of smoke cover the nearby grounds, As another of our space shuttles begins to soar Into space, above Earth’s blues and browns.
Just one century ago, mankind began to fly. Thus fulfilling the age-old quest To emulate the birds and gravity defy. Then set sights upward, toward the rest.
Ancients saw figures of their gods among the stars, As their imaginations ran wild. They named the planets Jupiter, Venus and Mars And others after gods they’d compiled.
The wiser Hebrews knew there was only one true God: Maker of the heavens and the stars. And that He had placed them on this Earth to trod, That now was spoiled by sin’s vile scars.
Today, we seek to explore the known universe Going where no one has gone before. But, though we search from cradle to hearse We’ll uncover questions, o’er and o’er.
Explore we always should, indeed, explore we must For it is our nature, ever to seek. Then when our lives are over and we return to dust Others will search with better technique.
But do not be frustrated my Christian friends By these perceived continual queries, For, when our present, fleeting, earthy journey ends We’ll have the answers, not just theories.
The scriptures are very clear and there should be no more doubt That we shall know all our creator knows For they declare we will be like him and not without The eternal knowledge He bestows.
So rejoice and be exceedingly glad in Him Who’s given these promises sublime. That all who faithfully trust Him beyond mere whim, Shall travel beyond all space and time.
1 Cor 13:12 NIV Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
1 John 3:2 NIV Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known . But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
